Day 1 Learning Outcomes
After completion of Day 1, workshop participants will be able to:
• Discuss the structure of the Australian legal system
• Discuss relevant local, interstate and national legislation
• Discuss the rules of evidence
• Identify and discuss procedural and legal requirements and issues relating to the preparation and delivery of evidence
• Explain the ethical obligations of an expert witness
Day 2 Learning Outcomes
After completion of Day 2, workshop participants will be able to:
• Discuss the layout of the courtroom
• Discuss the proceedings of a trial
• Apply the rules of evidence regarding testimony in courts of law
• Discuss the use of appropriate presentation techniques
• Demonstrate correct basic courtroom procedure and protocol
Day 2 includes a moot court to provide participants with an experience similar to an actual trial
