Quality Policy
Forensic Foundations International has established a robust quality management program to ensure that we consistently deliver flexible fit-for-purpose forensic programs to our clients aligned to our Quality Policy.
Forensic Foundations’ Quality Policy
The Management and Staff of Forensic Foundations International are committed to and focused on supporting the justice system as a whole and the individuals involved within the system, through the provision of flexible and fit-for-purpose forensic training, quality management, proficiency testing (complying with ISO 17043) and consultancy services.
The Management and Staff are committed to satisfying all applicable requirements and to continually improving the Risk Management and Quality Management Systems.
Forensic Foundations International comprises a core and an extensive network of experienced practitioners (specialists in multiple fields, legal practitioners, academics, etc) on which to draw. With a specific brief, Forensic Foundations forms a tightly focused team tailored for your exact needs, reducing time, resources and cost.
The core comprises:
Director – Anna Davey B.Sc. (Hons) (Melb), M.Sc. (Melb), Grad Dip Legal Studies (UNE), Grad Cert Pub Sec Mgmt (Flinders), Cert IV CBT (Barton)
In 1988, Anna was employed by the then State Forensic Science Laboratory as part of a small team formed to introduce DNA profiling to Victoria for criminal casework. By 1994, she was Team Leader and had developed an interest in education and training in forensic science. In 1997, Anna moved from casework to lead the ‘Quality Management, Education and Information Services’ team.
From 2000 – 2004, Anna held the position of Executive Officer of the National Institute of Forensic Science and in 2004, was appointed Deputy Director. She acted as Director of the Institute for seven months in 2003/4 and 12 months in 2007/8.
In 2008, Anna Davey founded Forensic Foundations International, a specialised service aimed at assisting practitioners entering the forensic arena or looking to broaden and deepen their skills. In 2010, Anna completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies at the University of New England.
Anna operates in all areas of the forensic sciences, focusing on quality management, the interface between science and the legal system, and forensic science based R&D. She brings an unequalled depth of knowledge and experience to these subjects.
Anna is the immediate past Vice President (Australia) of the Australian and New Zealand Forensic Science Society (ANZFSS) and is a Council Member of Victorian Chapter of the Australian Academy of Forensic Science.
Manager, Auditing and Compliance – Maritta Parsell B.App.Sc. (Monash)
Maritta has extensive knowledge of forensic science and auditing techniques. Maritta oversees the auditing portion of Forensic Foundations International. Her work involves the management and auditing to ISO 18385.
Manager, Quality Programs – Dale Parsell B.App.Sc. (Monash)
Dale oversees our internal quality programs including ISO9001 certification and ISO17043 accreditation. Dale is also involved with the design, delivery and assessment of Forensic Foundations International’s Proficiency Tests.
Manager, Proficiency Tests– Ben Davey B.Sc. (Monash)
Ben oversees and manages the design, delivery and assessment of Forensic Foundations International’s Proficiency Tests. Ben also manages the on-line resources and is involved with on-line and face-to-face delivery of training material.
Network
Our extensive network of subcontractor / consultants includes:
- legal practitioners (practicing and academic) in each state and territory;
- scientists (currently practicing, recently retired from full time work, laboratory based, university based);
- medical practitioners, nurses, social workers, IT professionals, accountants, etc etc etc.
